Urban Centre Property Enhancement Fund (UCPEF)

Bridgend County Borough Council in collaboration with Welsh Government is proposing to roll out a Property Enhancement project within Bridgend Town Centre; whereby financial assistance may be granted towards improvements to your property / business.

The investment opportunity aims to:

  • Make your businesses more attractive and accessible to customers
  • Strengthen business activity and enhance the physical appearance of the centre
  • Create and retain local employment
  • Protect and sustain local shops and services
  • Increase footfall and activity in the town

The scheme is proposed to be marketed on an open call basis within the Town Centre to identify demand and any businesses within the identified target areas will be receiving a letter along with more information regarding the application process.

The grant money could be used to assist with the following:

External Works

  • Shopfronts & Signage
  • Windows & Doors
  • External Lighting
  • Roofs & Chimneys
  • Rainwater Goods
  • Rendering, stone cleaning & repairs, & re-pointing
  • Structural Works

Internal Works

  • Windows & Doors
  • Improved accessibility
  • Walls, ceilings and lighting
  • Utilities and services, including heating
  • Welfare facilities (washroom and cleaning facilities only)
  • Structural works

In return your business/property could

  • Create new jobs
  • Safeguard existing jobs
  • Create and/or retain a local business
  • Create, refurbish, or bring back in use non-residential premises

At Bridgend BID we feel this is a fantastic opportunity for the qualifying traders and businesses in the town centre, so would recommend completing the Expression of Interest form ASAP.
